Start Here: Build Enough Money to Walk Away

If you’ve ever sat in a meeting doing the math on how long you’d last if they cut you tomorrow, you’re in the right place.

Off The Treadmill helps corporate workers build walk-away money: enough financial leverage to say no to a job that’s costing them their health.

Not people chasing a Lamborghini. People who just want enough. Enough financial leverage to look a toxic job in the eye and say no on their own terms.

I call it walk-away money. And building it is the whole game.

New here? Start with my story

I spent 15 years inside corporate America and survived 23 rounds of mass layoffs at one company. The kind where a state trooper stands in the lobby while people who gave decades get five minutes and a cardboard box. It cost me my optimism and, eventually, two trips to the ER. That’s when I stopped waiting to be “safe” and started building my way out.

(Writing under a pen name, Jack Freeman, because I’m still inside the machine I’m writing about. The stories are all true. Only the names are protected, mine included. The full why is here.)

What this site is actually about

One obsession: buying back your freedom before the grind takes it first. I treat your money and your health as the same fight, because time freedom with a wrecked body isn’t freedom, and a fat paycheck that’s slowly killing you isn’t wealth.

No get-rich-quick nonsense. No hustle-culture. No pretending I have it all figured out. I’d rather tell you the uncomfortable truth than sell you a comfortable lie.

The four things we cover

Everything here ladders up to one goal, getting you off the treadmill, across four areas.
